PRACTICAL GUIDE · VENDOR EVIDENCE QUALITY

Before a performance claim, check the evidence behind it.

For equipment suppliers, energy service providers and technical consultants, a credible client-facing performance story starts with clear provenance, consistent units and transparent uncertainty—not an impressive output number alone.

Six checks before presenting results

01 · Define the claim

Specify the metric, equipment/system boundary, time interval and exactly what the buyer should infer. Avoid implying a general warranty from one narrow observation.

02 · Identify source provenance

Record who generated each measurement or artifact, when it was collected, whether access/usage rights are valid and whether the original evidence can be reproduced.

03 · Document calibration

State instrument calibration status, sensor accuracy, units, missing time periods and any preprocessing that may affect conclusions.

04 · Separate data from models

Observed site outcomes, synthetic tests, replay results, forecasts and simulated scenarios are distinct evidence categories. Label each accordingly.

05 · Explain uncertainty

Specify the baseline, assumptions, exclusions, potential confounders and any sensitivity analysis. Flag disagreement rather than forcing a PASS.

06 · Make review repeatable

Preserve an authorized trace from claim to source records, applicable processing versions, reviewer notes and unresolved exceptions.

How Trusta can help

CONFORM research workflows examine evidence sufficiency and uncertainty; PowerOS explores modeled operating scenarios; ORBIT supports decisions and constraints. We can quote an initial evidence triage for one bounded, rights-cleared packet or collaborate with an independent specialist for a more demanding validation project.

Professional boundary: Trusta CONFORM is not an accredited verification or certification body. These services do not establish independently field-verified savings, regulatory compliance, equipment safety or licensed professional engineering. Third-party measurement and verification, site access and formal opinions require separate authorized scopes.

Please share only non-confidential project descriptions via email. Secure evidence transfer and suitable data rights will be agreed before receiving customer datasets.
